- 2 T. cream or milk
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- Food coloring
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Beat butter, sugar, vanilla, and food coloring together until light and fluffy
- Add dry ingredients to wet and mix into a dough (if dough is too dry/crumbly add cream or milk 1 T. at a time)
- For each cookie, wrap 1 level T. of dough around one cherry to form a ball
- Bake 1 inch apart on baking sheet (a pizza stone works best if you have one) for 12-14 minutes till set, not brown
- After cookies are completely cool, dip the tops of cookies into icing
- Sprinkle colored sugar on top
- Let cookies sit out until completely set
- Enjoy!
Extra tip: Use a bit of the cherry juice from the jar of cherries in your icing or dough. It will help your dough become more malleable and give your icing an added flavor.
